Personally I find the new HL website to be unbelievably unfriendly. Last year I would say I ordered well over $1000 maybe even $2000 of stuff, but this year I have only ordered one item and that's because it came up on a Google search. I don't know if they're trying to become a wholesaler only or what, but I think the new website SUCKS! I can't find a thing, and when I do find something it has no technical specs, no links to manuals, and no links to related items. HL get a grip before you become DEAD!
So vote:
1) The new Hobby Lobby website is user friendly.
2) The new Hobbly Lobby website is NOT user friendly.
3) You're not asking the right question.

I say #3.
While not user-friendly, the website is the least of their many problems. Sad.

Yes, we had a rough month or so with the system conversion, but that is behind us. The majority of the problems are solved. It's time to move forward now. We still have a lot of work to do on the website. We're working on it.
Thanks,

I'm sorry, Jason, but none of the problems I have with the new website are solved. By way of a specific example - searching for a tail motor for Ikarus Piccolo is as time-consuming today as it was a month ago.

I know, I was talking about the accounting/ordering system. I did say that the website needs work. We know it, you know it, and we'll fix it.
Thanks,

Well, the web site is STILL a total mess. HL has gone from having one of the best web sites to having the worst site.
If I had ever done as bad a job as the people doing their web site I would have been fired long before this.

Tom,
We will be improving the website. We've just had other systems not working correctly that needed to be corrected first.

I have asked this question several times before of HL:
WHEN WILL THEY IMPLEMENT A REALTIME STOCKCOUNTER TO STOP THE RUSSIAN ROULETTE CHANCE ONE TAKES WHEN ORDERING?
ANY ONLINE OUTFIT WORTH ITS SALT HAS SUCH THESE DAYS

We will be improving the website.
I hope so. I can't stand your web site. No detailed information/specs, no pics on many items, it's hard to find >anything<. It's forced me away from Hobby Lobby totally since you changed web sites. I've gone to ordering all my modeling gear other vendors (who I find myself very happy with, btw). That's close to $1000 loss in sales to you. I'll be ordering a 1/6th PA-12 (by phone). But, until the web site gets a makeover, I have no desire to waste my time trying to find something that, if I find it, has inadequate information about the product and often no picture at all.
Sorry to be so negative, but the Hobby Lobby web site is a terrible place to shop. I hope it gets changed soon

I apologize for the harsh words, but I won't edit it because it's exactly how I felt and still feel.

We get it and we're working on it. There's only a small sample of obscure items that do not have photos now. Just about everything has specs. You need to click on the specs tab to find them. Not great and we know it. It's on our radar and will be resolved.

I'm encouraged, thanks Jason, sorry to be so critical.

No worries. We're finally getting our order/inventory system bugs worked out and the website is in for major upgrades and fixes soon too. Thanks for your patience and support.

Jason,
I certainly appreciate all the work HL has done so far, but I still miss the ease of ordering I once had. Not that this matters, but I looked back over my records and I purchased well over $2000 from HL in '08, and less than $100 in '09 so far, but my total RC purchases for '09 are over $8000.
Today I was looking for a motor and I clicked on my bookmark for HL and then looked for a link. Now I'm not stupid so I eventually figured out that motors are under Flight Accessories, but honestly that type of link is a travesty and keeps me from coming back. If I can't find what I'm looking for in seconds then I know of multiple other sites where I can.
My personal miniscule advice is look at MarineDepot.com and try to build a left hand column like theirs. That's what the previous HL site had and that's what will drive usage of HL now.
Anyways, just one guys opinion. HL has so much to offer, and they were my "go-to" supplier. I only hope HL becomes me "go-to" supplier again!

I posted my thoughts and then looked over your site again. I think the most critical factor is providing a "home page" dedicated to Airplanes, Cars, Boats, and Helicopters. Each field is wholly different and attracts completely different clientele. Yes there is some overlap, but very little. I understand the desire to compete with Horizon Hobby, but I would say they have the second worst site to HL.
