Hello!
I bought an Extremeflight 88" Extra and now i´m looking for the right engine!
What do you think is the better choise?
I think 1527/2.5d neumotor would be the right engine!

The Neumotor 1521 1.5Y w/ P42 6.7 to 1 gear box is the right set-up for that plane.

I have an hyperion Z5045B, if it fail again, i will go for the 1527 because I'm afraid that the 1521 is to light for that kind of power ... weight is not an issue here

Actually I agree with Lazy boy the 88" Extra will be better than excellent with a
In June 09 edition of RC-Sport Flyer, Mike Hoffmeister tested a 50cc 89" Hangar 9 Carden Edition Yak converted to electric.
In an earlier issues he had tested a 1521F/1.5Y/6.7HD on 12S, An Evolution 50 and a DA 50 (both with a variety of mufflers and pipes) and the 1521 came out on top, in terms of thrust and airspeed
Using the 1521/1.5Y the Yak (17.8lb ready to fly) accelerated to a radared 54 mph in a vertical climb from a hover and ran 87.7 mph on the flat and from gave 9 minute flights with a good reserve from TP5000 mah packs

Several people are running the 1521/1.5Y in 17 to 19 lb 3D/aerobatics planes. I have that motor in a 88" EF Extra myself. There is no shortage of power.

I have been humming and hawing between this and the Hacker A60-18L. The only thing keeping me from the Neu is the Gearbox maintenance and possible gearbox separation. I have head that this can happen.
Jeffery, can you comment on your experience with the Neu other than performance?
Thanks

The maintenence is brutal, they need to be re-greased once a year or every couple hundred flights. That's 30 minutes a year I could be spending watching "Gilligan's Island". :D
Seriously, you do need to clean/re-grease it after break in, 15-20 flights or so. Then once a year is what the heavy users are recommending. I don't put that many flights on mine, but I think lazyboyflyer and 1bwanna1 both fly the heck out of theirs, they could better comment.
They don't have any separation issues if you have a good mount and tighten/threadloc the gearbox>motor screws before use. So yeah, it can happen. It hasn't happened to either of my 1521 set ups. It's worth noting that the motors are becoming more popular in pattern flying, those guys don't like reliability issues.
As for the performance (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11719589#post11719589), I think this is what Andrew was taking about.

Now I also think the Neumotor 1521/1.5Y will be the right setup!
How does the Castle Creations Phoenix HV 110 work with the Neumotor?
Or is there a better speed controller?

Works fine. That's what mine use, I think most people with these motors run the CC 110HV.
