I recently crashed a phase 3 F16 and have gotten a new fuse to replace it however the motor /esc just beeps and doesnt fire up. Its on the same radio and everything. How do I tell if the motor or the esc is the problem. I dont have another ESC and dont want to buy one if its the motor. How can I test the motor without the esc? Or test the esc without the motor? TIA

You can test a motor by turning it in a drill and see if all 3 wire pairs generate the same AC voltage.

Are you a member of an RC club? Or maybe you have some buddies that fly RC too who could connect your motor to their setup and see if it works?

Thanks , Lots of good info there. I did try to hook the motor up directly to a battery , but for only about a 1/4 of a second. When it didnt run I stopped. No smoke or anything. I will try some of the tests you mentioned. Is there a way to test the ESC as well? Thanks Again

Never connect a brushless motor directly to battery/DC. The motor will act as a massive short. Consider yourself lucky your motor did not go up in smoke :) ALWAYS use a brushless controller.
