I would like to see HL make a real effort to become a "one stop shopping center" for modelers who actually build balsa, etc models from plans, kits or short kits.
Local hobby shops are now primarily selling toys and ARF model airplanes and have been letting their stock of small packaged accessories, light covering materials, foam wheels, paints, transparent butyrate plastic, balsa, ply, music wire, tubing, wheels and even propellers dwindle to what hasn't sold recently.
Many are unwilling to order items from local suppliers.They are also glacially slow in replenishing stocks of items that are sold and probably do not take regular inventories and order often enough. I often have to try three different hobby shops to find a certain prop , color or type of covering often settling for something if available.
It would be great for HL to be able to advertise "We probably have it, if not will get it and ship it within 10 days"
