ipod Speakers

Guys,

I am looking to set up a countdown timer for practicing sailplane contest landings and am looking for good inexpensive set of speakers for use with an early generation iPod Mini. I would like a set that are powered by 4 AA batteries so I can make up a 2000MA Eneloop pack to drive them. Music sound quality is not a big issue as these will be used just for the voice recorded countdown sequence.
