I am selling my brand new, fresh back from Garmin (replacement) Garmin 188C color chart plotter/ fish finder with the plastic screen protector still on it. Also included is a brand new GA29 pole mount GPS antenna, an extra wide dual beam hull transducer AND a MUS003R BlueChart marine cartography chip for Cape Cod (covers from the N. coast of CT to the S. coast of Maine). This package cost me well over $2100 when I bought it new in 2003. Since I sold my 18' center console (new owner didn’t want it), this is useless to me and my kayak.

Here is what Garmin has to say about this GPS.
Product Description
The GPSMAP 188C Sounder can be easily installed in open cockpit and overhead boxes, and features a quick map redraw using a high-speed RISC processor. This unit combines chart plotter and sounder capabilities in one unit, with split-screen capability so you can view your position and sounder information at the same time. For the GPSMAP 188C Sounder, the display is a high-resolution (234 x 320 pixels), 16-color TFT display .Featuring a built-in worldwide base map, the GPSMAP 188C Sounder is fully compatible with Garmin's new BlueChart marine cartography and many MapSource CD-ROM products, including Fishing Hot Spots. This unique unit is designed to provide precise GPS positioning using correction data obtained from the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS). It also provides position accuracy to less than three meters when receiving WAAS corrections. The GPSMAP 188C Sounder also accepts RTCM-104 differential corrections.

I am asking $800 OBO shipped for the complete setup, or best offer. Obviously it is most valuable to people in the North East, but even without the chip it is a great chart plotter; It just doesn't have the same detail w/o the chip. (other chips are available through Garmin for your specific region though)

I have been unemployed for nearly a year with no benifits left, if you even think you might want this machine, make me an offer.
Thanks for looking, reply by PM please.
Matt

I just did a quick search on e-bay and USED Garmin 188c's are going for $600! So somebody please make me a reasonable offer in this elegant piece of fishing/ navigating equipment that I can no longer use.

Thanks for looking,
Matt

Luger,

If you still have this for sale, then please contact me @ pgkeating@comcast.net. I'm in MA, and would rather buy from you than Flea Bay.
