I bought a set of 10 Solar powered night lights for the yard. For $25 they are amazing. $2.50 each.

I didn't open one up but I'm curious. How do they turn off the LED during daylight and turn the LED on at night time? Must be a very cheap device to do this for the price . The LED uses a AAA rechargeable battery.

Yep, that top link is where I went for the similar thing. I put a joule thief and solar circuit on a micro arcade machine (hand built versions similar to wayoftherodent.com paper models). Fitted the 2 solar panels to the back door of the Galaxian cab and now in the day the marquee LED is off, comes on at night.
