Idea of Creating a Better Battery Voltage Indicator....
Guys, I need your Idea of creating a Better Voltage Indicator...
I have create lots of Battery Voltage Indicator.
1. a simple Single LED Lights connected in Series with Resistor and Zener Diode, it will just lights UP when Reach a Certain Voltage......or you can use a TL 431 for a more accurate and adjustable Voltage Level.
2. a simple Single LED that Normally Lights Up, but when it Reach a Certain Level it will Flashs to attract attention....using a 4 pcs transistor connected in Differential circuits with an Adjustable Voltage Level.
3. using 10 PCS LED, displaying an Expanded Voltage starting Voltage Level from 4.5 4.6 4.7 4.8 4.9 5.0 5.1 5.2 5.3 5.4..........I just use a LM3914 ICs....it is arrange in a Strainght Line, Improve the Visual Indication, I have installed additional LED beside its Lowest LED Indicator, so as the Voltage changing you can easily see the two LEVEL moving close to each other.
4. my next plan is to arrange the 10 PCS LED into Circular Position, just like a Watch or Clock, LED1 is in 1 O'clock....LED2 is in 2 O'clock ..... LED 10 is in 10 O'clock, to easily Visulize the LED will add an LED on its Center.......with this arrangement, its very easy to Distingguish which LED is Light UP......Reading the LED is just like reading a Clock or Watch.
5. another way is to use a Single LED, with a Different Flashing Rate.....Level 10 will Flash every 10 Second, Level 5 Will Flash every 5 Seconds......this need a Microcontroller.
Current been using the 10 LED with LM3914 on all my Helicopter........One dis-advantage of this you can only view it when the Helicopter is very close to the Pilot.
