interference problems

hi everyone

i am new to building rc boat and i built a catamaran with futaba radio gear and a stock motor with a standard esc but when ever the propeller shaft touches the water the esc and steering servo will start twitching badly

Could you tell us more about what you have . Exactly what esc ,motor and no. of cells? Also more details of the radio .Simply dumping a AM radio will not help much. I use both AM and FM radios and have had good performance with both. When I had problems with a boat, switching to FM didn't help much. Finding the scource of the problem did.

it is using an standard tamiya esc with a 7.2 battery

1/ check to see if you have metal scraping metal, if so, make a few adjustments, lube shaft and alter position of the collet that stops the shaft dropping out of the boat.

2/ check to see where your antenna runs and repositon accordingly, the best place for it is vertical, however this is not always possible, keep it then as close to the underside as possible, and away from the motor.

3/ is your motor suppressed, if not, fit them
