Last summer a fellow flyer invited me down (I had no plane so could not come), so I assume people must be still flying there...

....although on my few visits to the field, I was alone...

excellent location and a lot closer than Hanworth Airpark where I fly.

Wormwood scrubs is even closer to central london but is an awful location (dog droppings, blocked roads due to construction leading upto the field, tall grass, no experts ready to help you with first few test flights). I personally have an unlucky track record of crashing in Wormwood Scrubs.
