I just saw a video tutorial on how to put magnets in a wargaming model so you can swap out arms and weapons and things. And it got me thinking "well gee, I have all these new guns and things that I haven't yet installed on my boat and wouldnt it be nice if I could remove them when i want to transport the boat?" but the magnets they were using in the video were a little thick. Do there exist magnets that are the thickness of your average monetary coin that have any kind of decent grip? Where might I get some?

Also should I bother posting the tutorial even though it isn't RC related?

Thanks again guys!

I use rare earth magnets on all my models. On my ironclad that I recently finished, I used them to hold down the mid deck, anchor chain, vent pipe chains, boats & even an outhouse on the stern.

Here in China I buy them for pennies from small shops in the local hardware market that sell nothing but magnets; you guys can buy online from specialty distributors such as:

pretty much any electronics surplus retailer will have some. there are a lot out there which have been recovered from failed hard disk drives.

I usually check allelectronics.com.
