Hi Don, :)
Bloody marvelous mate! Well done to you and all your motley crew over there in Illinois, absolutely first class.
I liked your professional aproach to the test flight and all the comments from your buddies, to see Mr Ray Tomcyzk smile was worth the effort I guess.
Your test pilot, Mr Paul Boburka, did a great job too. I'm lifting this video from The Youtube for my collection, cheers,
Al :D
@ ashdec87, It said "Twin Lakes, Oak forrest Il." for the electric PBY, and "Lake DePue" for the clonker 5 years ago, cheers,
Al :D

Rotorheid,
My deepest appreciation for your comments. it's rewarding to know that you shared my enthusiasm for this project, which was my first conversion.
Research pays off and the performance was very satisfying indeed.
Test Pilot Paul Boburka said that the elevator needed more throw, so when I got home I checked the throw range and sure enough I had to set it to the lowest control horn hole, (it was at the top). Now there is plenty of range.
Also I had to reverse the Differential Rate switch, since I had it reversed.
I discovered that High setting should be towards the pilot and I also need more range between High and Low.
A water rudder was not installed because Ray Tomczyk, the builder, did not provide me the one he had installed, but I'm now working on fitting one in.
I wholeheartedly agree one is needed.
Thanks again for your atention to what I had included in the video. I thought it was important to do more than just show it in action, that's only part of the fun!!!!
BTW, Ray made a comment afterwards to one of his Nitro buddies "I never thought an electric could perfom that well"
He know's he is NOT getting it back now. LOL

Ashdec87,
It flew at Twin Lakes, which is located in a Forest Preserve at 167th and Cicero in Oak Forest, IL. The Suburban Aero Club of Chicago has a permit to fly there on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month, from 9am to 12 noon.
Tomorrow they are hosting an all day Float event with food.
Come on out, if you are in the area or make a special trip.
I live in Darien, so I take I294 South to 127th Street, then South on Cicero Ave, turn right on 167th St then turn right at the first entrance.
