I broke my motor bending wires and need to replace it, now i am wondering if i could remove my gearbox and stick in two motors instead of a single one (there is enough space)

but in order to think about that i need to know some pitfalls of running multiple motors and what equipment i would need to hook them up

Thanks for any info

AMP DRAW will determine the size of the esc. I run several boats with twin drives on one esc. I tend to buy a larger esc than needed just to be safe. You need to find out how much torque the motor has as it will turn the prop of a given size. For instance, a 550 size motor running on 7 cell nimh batteries turns a 35 mm 3 blade prop on my Midwest CG boat very well. It will plane the boat with ease and I can run for around 20min. I run two 550 size motors on one esc in this boat. I think it is a 45 amp esc. I do run two 7 cell packs in parallel on this setup.
Hope this helps.

jester, I did that with the Yamato, one motor out 4 motors in, and I have done some diagrams on the scale section
