I got off about 6 feet of Scott tissue at St. Mary's tonight, cut off about a 1/3 inch wide strip, peeled it into single-thickness, taped onto the Vapor tail skid, and we flew Vapor and other planes streamer combat for our first, but definitely Not our last time!

After getting a streamer wrapped up around the prop and into the gears twice in a row, I cut a strip of copier paper and taped around it to make a quick gear-guard. It's not 100% protection so far, but made a huge improvement.

At various times we had 5 planes with streamers all over the gym. We had a great time.

Would love to hear of others' Vapor and similar planes streamer combat and any hints and tips you may have come up with. We did a lot of flying and had relatively few streamer cuts.

A good source for streamers is an old audio cassette tape. I tied a 20-foot length on at one point, just for kicks, and the stock motor with a 70mAh battery still had plenty of power. And this is at 4500 feet above sea level. Sure does harrier well with 20 feet of streamer tied to the back. Is that proportionally equivalent to a 140 feet of streamer on a Senior Telemaster? :D

We also had the streamers tangle in the prop a few times. I'll have to try that gear guard idea. Thanks!
