A friend of mine gave me an old 4X8 flat/tilt bed trailer and planned on using it for hauling until I saw a trailer dolly at Harbor Freight Tools. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=37510
Then it hit me... Why lug everything to the waters edge (sometimes several trips) when we could load it on a trailer and wheel it there? As you can see by the pix I took it farther with a custom built picnic table with umbrella and a front mounted gas grill. And of course its carpeted. Only had it out once, but I'm sure it's not finished yet. Anyone else have a novel way to go boating with comfort and convince?

I think the speed boat guys figured this out ages ago.
Some of our club members had it figured out by the 90s...
I hope I never need one..., :o
Here are some of the current trailers...

Cool!
I love to see the ancillary systems we build to support our hobbies.
I have day dreamed about one of the new Chevy HHG's in the "panel truck" form for this purpose.

I'd prefer to go lightweight---. An aluminum folding chair, a clip-on umbrella and a "little playmate" cooler---. :D

Hey Drydock there's one more thing you need to do. Take that pickup bed and put some wheels under it ,hook it to the trailer with the table on it and fill it with beer and ice. Not to worry, the Lincoln would pull it no sweat.
Nice looking rig drydock and I love the grill feature. Gotta have some burgers when running boats. That's hard work. Pete

Sure, guys have been using trailers for years to haul and for workbenches but I didn't see any water near your photos. Guess I owe you some pix of mine while in use "At the waters edge". Shouldn't be more than few days. Thanx Norgale, but we use and extended bed dual diesel for beer and ice!

I usually shoot pics of the trailers just to show the insanity of the setups.. When the boat are on the water, you never see the trailers in the pic. ;)
No lazy boy, but I have seen a bench top jig saw and one time, a 110v welder
come out of one of the trailers.. :p

Absolutely wonderful. Nothing succeeds like excess, especially when it comes to hobbies. Bring on the Lazy-Boy. And maybe a stall shower, with a generator for heating hot water.
Cheers,

But why would you want to heat hot water???
Cold water, sure...
And if you have a British car, you can use the exhaust manifold to heat cold beer to an acceptable temperature...

Only if you can keep the engine running long enough to generate heat...

Actually, I've only had warm beer once in England. Most of the Brits like it a bit on the cooler side---. ;)
And Shaun is right about British cars, but he forgot to mention the oil leaks---.

How in the heck did this revert into another British sports car thread... I miss my old Spridgets.
This is my idea of waters edge comfort that includes wait staff I never have to tip. :)

Hey, that's the same trailer I use to tug my sailboat around on! Not a bad buy for $120.00

I travel light also. The tug goes in the passenger floorboard, the runabout in the pass seat and the Bismarck in the bed on top of two inch foam. I make sure I have a large insulated mug full of ice cold soda and a large tackle box for my turkey baster. :)

Had the rig at the flying field today and between that, the built-in gas grill and our boats radar gun, we were accused of being professionals... until they saw us fly!
