I have been setting up a Maxstream modem to communicate with a Pontech SV203 servo controller. I can not seem to get the communications working.

I can loopback the data on the modem and it is receiving the commands.
I can run the SV203 directly from the serial cable.
I have been over and over the wiring.

I am doing something simple and I don't know what it is but I can not get the servo controller to work with the modem.

Baud rate matched??

I believe the problem lies in the fact that the servo controller needs a full time serial stream and the XTend is time sharing to get "full duplex". Make sure you have the "over air" serial rate and the "port" serial rate set to the same on both modems (e.g. 9600 and 4800).

If the baud rates double check, then set one up to TX full time and the other to RX full time and that might work (that is about where I am with my 8CH RC system using XTends).

Thanks guys,

sorry it took so long for me to get back.

It figures after spending hours trying to trouble shoot something simple; something which you should be able to see, you find yourself with the obvious answer right after you ask the question.

The SV203 is in RS232 level but the 9Xtend is in TTL level. I missed that part because the manual said it is a RS232.. at TTL. Some times I have to read things a couple times before they sink in.

I cut off the serial converter chip and soldered to the ttl on the SV203 board and it works fine.
