We've now launched a store (http://store.diydrones.com/) at DIY Drones. First products include an expansion board ("shield" in Arduino-speak) for ArduPilot that adds the following functionality:

-Compact design that matches ArduPilot board.
-On board differential pressure sensor (MPXV5004DP) for airspeed measurement.
-3.3V Voltage Regulator.
-Voltage divider to measure battery level (Up to 4 cell LIPO's).
-Dedicated port for infrared sensors.
-Auto/Shutdown GPS--eliminates need to unplug GPS when uploading new code or writing to ArduPilot with the FTDI cable.
-Support for 3Volts GPS including 3v3 TTL conversion.

You can see it mated with ArduPilot below.

Hi all,

I ordered two of the Ardupilot Shield modules from the DIYDrones store this morning and they shipped this afternoon.

Can't beat that kind of service.

Congratulation Chris and Jordi!

Regards,
TCIII

We've added a bunch of new products, including the ArduPilot shield without the pressure sensor and cables. Between this and Blimpduino, I think we've launched ten products this week alone--lots more in the pipeline, too. This is a great time for innovation in this field, and the open source route is paying off.

Hey Chris,
Congratulations, that is a huge step forward for DIYDrones. While there might be a longer ramp up time for this right now, I think it will become a very popular place to go for specialty items.

One thing I think the industry needs is a source for multi pin wires at varying lenghts. Take for example the wires that come with the AttoPilot, high quality cables, but the lengths of each cable are made to be useful to almost any plane design. I've looked every where for shorter, 4, 5 and 6 pin wires with no luck. My installation definitely doesn't need an 18" SD cable! :)

Anyway, best of luck,

Chip-

That's a good suggestion. We do have a custom cable supplier and that sort of speciality UAV accessory is what we intend to focus on. For legal reasons, we won't make or sell autopilots themselves (as an open source developer, we give away the core autopilot technology), but rather let third parties do that
