I have a like new in box O.S. 60 open rocker four stroke engine. The needle valve on the carb is missing, however. Does anyone know where I can buy a needle valve for this engine? Thanks in advance for you help.

OS usually identifies their carbs. Look for a number in the casting like "4D" or "3A." Then go to OS and look up out of date parts. You will find that generally the needle vales are all fairly similar in a family of carbs. They are not into spending extra money to make different parts if they can help it. So there is a lot of commonality in those kinds of parts.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chip

The OS60FS had two different carbs and neither one has an identifying number on them. One has a cast body and the other is machined. They are completely different with no common parts.

Thanks for your input. The engine I have has the machined carb. I have a needle valve being sent to me, but I guess I have a 50/50 chance it will fit. The fellow did not mention 2 types of carbs and I did not know any better myself. Oh, well, I took a $10.00 gamble.

Did you get the correct needle?

Yes, I did. I now have a complete, like new in box engine with the box and all the paperwork. I will probably put the engine up for sale, as I will never fly it.

Let me know if you want to sell it. I collect OS 4 cycles. Does yours have cast or machined rockers? PM me.

Best bet is to auction these for true market value.
