Hi guys
I'm new to electric boats but I have flown R/C aircraft for years. I
thought that it would be fun to try an electric boat too. Now I have
$135 for motor, esc and 2 batteries (3would be perfect I think). It
would be a scratch-build mainly using carbon fiber, fiberglass, balsa
and plywood. I suppose it should be a mono V as I am planning to use it
on both a river and a lake. Faster is better :D I'm also planning to use
it as a little fishing boat for pulling bait behind it (I assume that
pulling power is opposite to speed. Maybe using different pitch screws
would help?
I'm going to buy from 'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store :'
I would use a suitable amp rating SuperSimple ESC (convert it to water
cooling).
For motor I found these two:
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : 2848SL 3900kv Brushless Inrunner
(WaterCooled) $37.95' (http://tinyurl.com/plgmpr)
or
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : TR 28-45 3600kv Brushless Inrunner
(WaterCooled) $29.90' (http://tinyurl.com/p5jfv9)
or
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : HXT 36-56 2700kv Brushless Inrunner
(WaterCooled) $44.95' (http://tinyurl.com/qpl5o3)
the last one would blow my budget as I would need at least 4000mAh
4cell lipo or what do you think?
Which would be better? Or should I choose a non-water cooled inrunner
and try to convert it? (would it be cost effective - cheaper)
Like maybe this one:
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : Turnigy B36-56-04 2600kv Inrunner
$25.95' (http://tinyurl.com/pg6kgl)
For battery I found:
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : ZIPPY Flightmax 4000mAh 3S1P 20C
$31.97' (http://tinyurl.com/pn9yht)
for 3cell
or
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : ZIPPY Flightmax 3000mAh 4S1P 20C
$33.98' (http://tinyurl.com/ozmw53)
for 4cell (to smaller motors)
or for larger ones
'Hobbycity Online R/C Hobby Store : ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 4S1P 20C
$60.05' (http://tinyurl.com/pttt4k)
Am I thinking in the right direction or should I choose a completely
different setup?
Any suggestions for drawings?
Thanks
