Aw come on, I may not need inane comments but I like them. These build logs are fun, I'm gonna go get some popcorn and beer. I love Frank Zaic's drawings, I may just have to get one of these kits someday just to get a set of the plans. Good Luck! even though I know you won't need any.

Those ODDS and ENDS bring back many GREAT MEMORIES , especially those "REAL" balsa HLGs hanging up overhead! :D
The many, many afternoons I spent in a field behind our house tossing those things and watching them soar in circles overhead, occasionally one of them hooked a big thermal and went on a cross country oddysey!
Geeeessshhhh that's been over 40 years ago! :)
The balsa dust from sanding airfoils into tne wings, the tubes of Ambroid and Testors glue that were expended in my quest of flight! :D
Keep Em Flying!

Condor-60,
Are there two different sets of plans?
Some time ago, before the kits were ready to ship, I purchased a set of plans from you. That set is different from the set than comes with the kit.
In the original set, the sheet with the horiz.stab. and fin/rudder is different, in that it shows plans for a one-piece wing, a power pod and landing gear on the bottom third (approx) of the sheet, and the little note you showed us eariler. It does not have steps 13 thru 20 of the fuselage construction - they are nowhere to be found.
Of the two, I certainly prefer the plans that came with the kit.
Interesting.

Thanks for the reminder about Model Research Labs and links up in post #36. I have been planning on covering my plane with mylar laminating film and didn't even think to check that website again. I have dealt with him before successfully and I think I will now do so again. Love your posts here, keep 'em coming when you can. Good Luck on The Road!

......To answer both Matthew and Steve concerning the plans. Frank made up another plans sheet where he added a pylon design for a .15 engine on the sheet that shows the Stabilizer drawings. The other plans sheet that shows the same Stabilizer shows the steps 13 thru 20 of fuselage construction like Steve had mentioned. The plans with the stabilizer showing the .15 engine pylon has not been included in the kits because the cost factor involved and the fact that probably no one would be interested in doing it. Steve I need to send you the plans sheet showing steps 13 thru 20 for the fuselage construction for you will need it. Its hard to believe I failed to include them but I guess I did. After the materials delay I had during that period of time I was rushed to get everybodys kit out the door and in my haste to do so must have sent you the wrong sheet. Just let me know if this is correct.

Condor-60,
Everything is fine. You needn't send me anything. I have two sets of plans - the set that I bought some time ago and the set that came with the kit. So I do have a sheet with steps 13 thru 20, and a sheet with the power pod/pylon that, while interesting to read, I will never, never need.
In case you are wondering, I have not broke out the G-110 kit yet except to examine the contents and study the plans. I have another sailplane on the building board, and I can only build one at a time. I only have a little time each evening to work at the building board.
The builds are going well. I am anxious to read some maiden flight reports - with pictures!

Thermic, great innovative build thread! I find it the most coherent Floater build thread so far, and your pics and annotations help that, and a sense of humour!
I've had good results with Weldbond also, its quality was confirmed for me with a terminal velocity dive to earth when a synth rx decided to have a rest, the Oly III structure remained sound on all weldbond joints, this glue has a bit of flex under a range of stress conditions I guess.
I get excited when people start to talk of applications for different types of wood in their planes, I'll stay tuned to your build of this classic woodie and hopefully learn more about it all.

.....Sorry Steve that my build and Ron's doesn't meet up to your standards. I will do my best to improve on the situation and pass it on to Ron West. Its quite fun building
an old classic, there kinda like woodies but with more prestige.

.......Steve you are very correct on this one. Matthew certainly does know how to do a build thread. I have been totally overwhelmed at his presentations and ethusiasm for
building the Zaic Floater G-110. Matthew and I are big Zaic fans and all I want to do is
try and keep his name around as long as I can. Steve I would very much like to be your
friend as there were many times I wanted to give you good comments on your project. You did a very good job on building and flying the Lil Bird from Skybench and you must be very proud,I know I would be. We'll have a Floater in the air soon and many more after that hopefully as I have sold several kits. Ron's Floater is just about ready to take to the air as he only has a few minor touch ups to do.

This is one of the funnest, most humorous, educational and all around most entertaining build threads I have read. Admittedly, that isn't really saying much because I have not been around here (RCG) for all that long. Nevertheless.....Thank you Mr. TT, I think you have raised the bar, for all of us.
Regarding the thread trick, I have been wondering if threads across open structures could be useful behind the D-box on the upper surface. I don't think it is necessary on relatively flat, bottom parts of wings. I will be trying this on a short 3 or 4 rib experiment section, hopefully in the next 3 or 4 months, if work doesn't interfere, and will report my thoughts somewhere or other here (on RCG.)
Let's all wish TT success in his job hunting. (Wait....that would mean he wouldn't have too much time on his hands to show us all some really cool and awesome building ideas and stuff......maybe not such a good idea.....well, follow your own conscience.)
