Hi roadripper,I just put a deck on a hull bottom a few weeks ago and
used 3M 5200 adhesive. This was a shoebox type hull where the deck over
hangs the hull bottom creating a lip.I put about a 3/8" bead around the
mating surfaces. It takes 7 days to cure but stays pliable and doesn't
get hard. You can aid the curing process by spraying it with water once
in a while. This adhesive was recommended by a guy who built fiberglass
hulls.I also put a fiberglass strip 2" wide on the inside of the hull at
the seam to strenghten it .You can get it at marine stores or where I
got mine . Get the 10oz tube as shown and use an ordinary caulking
gun.'3M 5200' (http://tinyurl.com/rx84op)
