I was hoping for a bit of education, as i don't get it.

You are seeing SkyNet in its infancy. For an education, re-watch “Terminator” (the original movie). :D

Fortunately we are about 100 years from the system becoming “self aware”.

Spitfiremk9 - What part didn't make sense? I'll help to fill in the gaps.

Hi d wheel ............. Gary's ribbing me but fairs, fair....., welcome I interrupt with what if type tangential thinking when I escape from waterplanes, a discipline that requires more than its fair share of the first and a dry sense of humour.

BTW Your Avatar is that a Pyrenean Mountain dog? regards Clive

Thanks. The TV show and all look quite interesting ;)

We call them Great Pyrenees. Originally from the Pyrenees mountains between Spain and France. Mine is one of the gentlest, friendliest, 140 pounds of fur and drool I have ever known. He is in his 13th year (quite old for a big dog) and going down fast. I fear I will have to take a few days off work to mourn when he finally succumbs.

I know the breed and its orogin, ........the fur and drewl thing reminded me of my sisters Newfoundlander a Lancia and Old English sheep dog....... great dogs but not the best way to be woken up if you have a hangover. LOL

I started visiting you guys when jeff AKA Workshop posted the first Catalina Island UAV propsal, Its about the same as flying the English channel but a bit longer and tougher to do. Its also a cradle of early flyingboat commercial aviation. I saw the name and thought now thats an idea I like, then seeing a picture of a plane from under the water made me start pulling in other ideas, if you are going to fly a highly expensive robotic plane full of electronics over water youd best at least be able to stay afloat if you have to ditch :D
The ultimate UAV/AP ship would have to be an ampibian air frame that would also be able to land and ROW,with a look up look down capacity, capturing pictures from the air and if possible beneath the water on touch down, that came with the yatch launched UAV/AP idea.

With UK waters more often sonar would seem more appropriate...I laughed :D :D till last night I found this  http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1016771  check out the last link, well thats that idea sorted....... Jeff? ;)

Imagine a lone yatch trying to find a channel in unfamilliar waters or research team just looking for some fish - to watch or catch   Or get a closer look at that suspect fishing vessel eyeing you up from the distant horizon...... beware the Boogie men......... they were the original indionesian pirates perhapse the idea has wings after all ? Jeff are you listening a stowable affordable UAV/sky eye with a live feedback could do a lot of good work????

Im an interdiciplinary scientist - trained to think in webs and flows, Im also slightly dyslexic, mostly broke and ......well gary would say Creatively challenging...a bit bonkers :p but Im quite good at it. Follow my links and you will see where and what Im moving hopefully someone towards.

Another great dog! I don't care for the little ankle biters. Give me a big bear of a dog any day.

I own kVA Effects:

www.teslacoil.com
www.youtube.com/user/kvaeffects

We buy a lot of pulse discharge caps from your Electronic Systems division in San Diego. I’d MUCH rather fly / test / teach UAVs than what I do now but why quit when I’m ahead? I've been invited to Aldelanto but I got busy at work and never made it (regretted it ever since).

Hmmm… maybe sales? I used to sell IBM equipment to the Pentagon. You guys need a celebrity spokesperson?...

Jeff

p.s. thanks Clive!
