I'm not a beginner. I will be a beginner in the 400 size. I have several coax and a couple of srb Quarks (great helicopters - worth the money). The problem is that none of them will fly in 5-8 mph winds (just go out of control). I want to get a B400 so I can fly on windy days. What about it?

I flew forward flight with my Blade 400 for the first time in light winds yesterday and didn't have a problem. Saw someone with a 400-class heli fly stunts in 30 MPH winds on Satudray and he didn't have a problem either!

Fly my Trex 250 in 5-15mph without too much troubles.

Flying in the wind will make you a better pilot, I did have balloon on me once and recovered kind of harshley to the ground. Now I know to stay on top of it E.I. Fly just a head of the heli rather than respond to it.

The Blade 400 will easily handle 15mph winds if you are good enough, but I highly recommend doing your training and tuning flights in dead calm or inside. The Trex 250 is surprisingly good in the wind too, but I had it want to tip over while spooling up once - Blade 400 will have the same issue if you don't pay attention. Once you're in the air though, the wind is not a big deal - gusts can cause a problem, but remember, the helicopter doesn't really "see" the wind - it's always windy from the helicopter's point of view, even when hovering. Only tricky part is when you are near the ground.
