Well I finally got my Monocoupe up and flying. I have an Atlas motor and CC-85 HV contoller powered by 10s2p A-123 Cells. I am swinging a 20X12 prop. It rolled about 10 feet and was airborne. 2 clicks of down and 2 clicks of left ailerons and it was trimmed.
The stubby little wings really make it roll very nice. The cord makes it slow down very nice. Landing was very easy. Slow and responsive. Really for a large scale plane it flies like a cub. I used DS-821 servos and they are more than strong enough for this application. I am also using a A-123 1100 MAH reciever battery unregulated.
The fast charging is the best part.

Very nice!
What Atlas motor are you using?
You msut be good for 20-25 minutes of flight using 10s2p A123? What charger do you use to fast charge?
Looks like a lot of fun.

The Atlas motor I am running in it is a 5020/22. So far it is very quiet. Its mounted with 4 inch standoffs from the fire wall. There is quite a bit of right thrust built into the fire wall so just be carful not to over do it. I may take some of mine out as I fell its a little to much.
The weight came out to 15.75 pounds. As I said even with the stubby little wing it floats rteal well. It handles the wind good too. Now its raining out so it maybe a few days before I can fly it again.
The last flight was 8 mins and I used 1850 mils out of the 4600 pack. So close to 20 mins is possible. Ill stick with closer to 12 just to be on the safe side.
