I bought your Proboat motor and asked a question about the recommended ESC. I guess this is the ESC you had planned to use. Is this for LiPo batteries only?

I'm new to brushless motors and read that certain ESCs can only be used with LiPo batteries. I have already ordered NiMH batteries for my boat.

Yes, this will work for Lipo 2S - 5S or regular NiMh batteries. It's a 100 amp controller, but I would recommend keeping everything under 70 amp continuous. You can find a good discription here.
