I am looking for a schematic or complete unit of an adjustable inverter to drive the backlite LCD panel in my JR 9303. Anyone know where I can buy one. THanks.

Do you mean backlite or contrast? The light is usually Led based so 5v and probably a resistor to limit it to 100mA. Contrast needs a negative voltage and therefore an inverter. Please clarify.

Just to clarify I am referring to the inverters used to power Electro luminescent panels which run at approximately 100V AC and frequency may range from 100 Hz to 5KHz. Frequency is used to adjust the intensity and to some degree the colour of the panel.

OK, sorry. I have no experience there.

Thanks very much for the ideas. I think I wil try the 555 timer unit.

Thanks Kevin;

I already have. I am using their EL panels with the INV-204 inverter but would like to be able to adjust the inverter frequency to control brightness. Unfortunately the inverter is potted to I can't get at the electronics to play around with frequency.
