Hi all, I am looking for a file containing NMEA serial data from a gps, of an entire flight, take off to landing, with lots of turns. I need it to do some real-world testing of some software I am developing. Can anybody please donate a file? I am expecting it to be just a long text file of nmea strings.
Thanks!

FlightGear (www.flightgear.org) is able to generate fake nmea strings for a simulated flight. This allows you to connect up external software that is designed for gps input and use it with the simulator. Could be a convenient way to get endless streams of test data ... and you could setup the exact specific scenarios and test cases you are interested in.

Curt.

Attached is a flight (AttoPilot) back in December 2008. Data is 1Hz NMEA of 3 GPS sentences, recorded on the ground station via modem downlink. There might be some errors hidden in it due to missed packets, so cross check each line against the reported checksum (to my quick visual inspection the file looks clean - no weird ASCII characters).
Hope this helps.

Google for "nmea 0183 simulator" and you'll find software like this:

Good luck!
