View Full Version : Discussion Mystery UAV operating in Afghanistan

Afghanistan maybe the testing ground for a new, advanced but as yet undisclosed UCAV programme.

Pictures shown exclusively to Unmanned Vehicles magazine and taken at an airbase in the war-torn country reveal a large flying wing-type design, adopted by UCAV designers, but not yet seen on an operational type.

Yeah, looks similar to the Horton/Gotha 229.. I built a 72" version with twin edfs. I test flew it a few times then stuck it in the closet... I read one of the Horton Brothers books.. Those cats were way ahead of their time... Northrop did well copying their stuff after the war..
