OK guys it is official. I have a new inrunner I am testing for 70mm fans in the 600-800 watt range on 4S lipo. This is going to be my test bed. A phase 4 F16 ARF kit. Here is a quick photo. Test runs on a 4S 2350 Rhino pack is about 900 watts wiht th 5 blade fan. The HET 6904 I tested was about 800 watts, but I have ordered a new rotor as I want to test on a new EDF rotor. More pictures coming.

sweet! that is a monster motor...i wouldnt mind testing a couple in a highly modded e-flite F-15........hint hint....how long is that sucker! :O

It is about 46mm long and 28mm diameter. I have a new HET 6904 on the way and will do some Eagletree testing. I have one 6904 rotor but recalled I messed with the trailing edge shape a little so I want a fresh one out of the package. But it was about 750-800 watts on the rotor I had and about 42k rpm with a 4S.

ok, airsally and i just ran this motor on the wemo mini fan, on botha rhino 2350 4s, and a XPS 3200 4s, test were done with the stock round lip, and a 2.1" tail pipe. motor runs pretty smooth, and runs quiet.

on the 2350 we got 54A, 800W on med timing

on the 3200 we got 60A, 875A, med timing (pentium40..i know...its all i had)

runs a tad warm, but by no means overly hot. and this is static, in the air, cooling gets better. pretty impressed. this put it at about 950W on a capable 4s in a HET fan with a ring and tail pipe. atleast on med timing..and this is a guess, from my experience between the wemo and HET. so far, im impressed. we may be able to fly this in my dads HP F-16 in the next few days. hs also going to try one in his e-flite hawk, on the e-flite fan(using a wemo 3.17 adapter...yes, it works with the e-flite rotor) that should be a tad over 900W as well :) flight test soon...

Thanks for testing them out. I eagerly await your flight results! I have my servos now so I can get on with my F16 build and test the motor out as well.

change of plans...we stuck the motor in the e-flite hawk with the e-flite fan. we are in the 900W range on 3200 4s, at this point, i think a heat sink is needed, but in the e-flite fan, the motor is almost completely exposed. going to fly today if wind stays decent. F-16 needs some work that i wasnt aware of, so were going with the hawk first. AS will fix the 16 soon, and get her up. im sure it will be really sweet on the extra 200W this setup is making over the old 3200kv heli motor. the new motor runs really smooth in the e-flite fan(using wemo 3.17 adapter) motor gets a little warm in static testing, but im sure it will be much better in air, and we'll give her a short cool down after landing. :)

ran into some esc issues, so we'll try to get a better report after that gets sorted out.
