Where is the best place to find a list of Boating clubs?

I am looking to find a list of all the boating clubs in the USA, is there anywhere where I can find this in one place? I would also like to find a list of boating events and competitions of all varieties. Any help?

I believe there is a club that runs at various locations along the front range known as the "Colorado Crew" that do scale model boats... might try googling that to see if they have a web site... also, if you are interested in model yachting (sailing) the AMYA (www.modelyacht.org) has a good list of chapters... there are a couple in CO.

That's a pretty big request, I don't think there is an all inclusive list. Are you looking for any kind of boating club? That could mean everything from the New York Yacht club to the three guys who meet monthly with their 1:700 scale models at the LHS.

For model boat clubs try these links:
Nitro/gas/electric go-fast boats will be listed under IMPBA and NAMBA (http://www.namba.com/content/default.asp).
Sail boat clubs will be listed ander AMYA (http://www.modelyacht.org/).
Some scale model boat clubs will be liosted with SSMA (http://www.ssmana.org/); submarines will usually be listed with the SubCommittee (http://www.subcommittee.com/).
Most of the national websites have a list of sanctioned (or authorized) events. Some of the club websites have their sailing schedule posted.
Since you asked here, I din not include the Nautical Research Guild and IPMS, which are mainly concerned with static display model - not operating rc models.

There are some model boat clubs that do not belong to any of the national groups, Wisconsin Scale Boating Association (http://www.wiscaleboat.org/index.htm) comes to mind.

The Colorado Crew will probably be the closest to you. One of our members goes to Colorado regularly to visit family and has met some of the CC guys. He really likes them, they're a good bunch.

CGBob's comment notwithstanding, The Indianapolis Admirals is an SSMA club and for some reason, we've not been listed on their affiliated clubs page.
