Any IDE hard drive should work with a Pentium II
It's not the processor that limits that.... it is the motherboard.
What size hard drive do you need?

depending on your OS, you might do better with a 2.0 USB external drive

You will not find a P2 computer with USB 2.0. on board. You would need a USB 2.0 card which I'm not sure would be supported on your board. Also an external drive is gonna be somewhat costly.
Not sure what you are looking to spend, but for around $100 bucks you can find machines that have been reimaged and are being sold by offices that are upgrading to new machines. PII is definitely an old technology as I had one in the late 90s. I would look at going for something like this if you're on a pretty tight budget.
