hey guys,

I was thinking of new projects to build and was wondering if anyone has attempted an rc hydrofoil?

If so how did it go? and is there any tricky building or power problems?

thanks guys if i build one i will post it. :)

50+ years ago I made one from a small, wooden runabout powered by an Allyn SeaFury outboard. I think I saw one in Popular Mechanics. Made the foils from strips I cut of Reynolds aluminum. Worked quite well. Then I started to "improve" it and the d**n thing never ran right again. :D

Here is one that I've had for several years.
I plan on upgrading with a brushless motor.

I believe the company is long out of business.

I believe I bought it over 10 years ago.
It was a kit.

Went across the water like a little water bug.

I made the holder for the hydro.

Enjoy!

Powering with propellers and surface piercing foils,.. No problem...
Powering with jet pumps and submerged foils is a technical challenge.
