Can you get a Piece of trim ..or a few flake's of that paint ...Take it to the shop you will be able to get a very good match at a hardware store , maybe go with Exterior oil paint or atleast the same type your Dad used ..

Red oxide primer ..though a good color for what you need .. ...see if you can find the Rustolium Satin ,gloss ...which ever you prefer clear coat ...on its own ..primer isnt that great ..it needs a little something to seal it up ..you will notice it will leave "chaulk marks " if left alone ..

Hi Chuck,
Looks good, I think you've nailed the cabin proportions, the planking is great, the "sleeper" planks are a good save in keeping the lines fair at the transom. The sheer line looks to have an exaggerated curve compared to the full sized boat though? so the cabin looks too low to the bow.

More patience and perseverance than me is all I can say :)

Ginsu! hehehe... make sure you put on your "Hi-Karate" aftershave when you pick up the Ginsu...But watch out not to harm the Chia Pets. :D

But seriously Chuck, the bow may or may not be too pronounced, but it looks GOOD to me.

Yo Chuck, got this marvel of technology fixed. Your looking outstanding. To give you a good proportion for cabin height, the shot of me at the helm works well I am 6'1'' so from the deck That cabin overhead is about 78'' high. You can also get the windshield proportions from that picture. That double planking gives you a very strong hull.

Dont even swear at me like that!!!LOL...No glass the whole Idea was to get the scale plank look.Of a real life working Novi hull.Thats It It got a light sanding. An was double planked over wider planks. So the seams are covered over. Now the many many coats of poly start!!!!Then two coats of finish color over that an "Wah-lah" done!!!!! I might even let you at the pond.Take one of your boats. An run Into It several times. So you can apply some scrapes an smudges. An make It look realistic as my Dads was smudged an scraped up!!!!Hey that PT 109 of yours comes to mind!!!That boat likes to run Into others!!!I just may have to bash Into It a few times!!!!!

I remember after Charlie (Chucks Dad) changed engines He used a different wheel. When you shifted into nutral it blanketed the rudder so you lost steering. Hit the dock a good wack the first time I drove it after the change. Hate it when that happens!!! I think the VJ was a bit faster with the Grey Marine in it but she was built to work not to go fast. Oh Ya that picture of me was taken on a trip to the Isles of Shoals

Hey that PT 109 of yours comes to mind!!!That boat likes to run Into others!!!

Chuckie, your memory file storage banks has data breaks in it! Must be all the pipe weld fumes. :p MY poor 'ol '109' was the object of collision (much like the real one) not the agressor. It just didn't have the speed to get out of the way...

Hey Charlie, speaking of the shoals, when I was getting pictures of Whaleback light Thursday, I put the telephoto on infinite focus, And got this pic of Star island 7 miles out. It was taken from Newcastle's great island common.

Nice work there Chuck. The bow looks much better now and the cabin is coming in right where it should. The planking lines look nice too. Shame to paint over them but maybe they'll show through anyway. Are there windows in the front of the cabin? I'd go nuts in the cabin if I couldn't see out but a lot of boats don't have windows there.
Building a model boat is supposed to be relaxing but your now getting to the parts that take more time so slow down. Otherwise you'll be making mistakes and doing things two or three times. Looking good Chuck. Pete
