Hello Guy's,

Starting My ARF Build Of The New Nitro Planes Cessna Twin 310 With A 92" WingSpan. This 92" Twin Kit Will Be My Biggest Wingspan ARF And Biggest Twin Yet I've To Lay Hands On, She's Huge. The Kit Can Be Found At "NitroPlanes.com" In The Twin Aircraft Section For $229 Bucks Sweet Price For The Montser Of A Of Twin Plane.

I Know Some Of You Guy's Have Scratch Build Kits Like These, So I'm Now Looking To Order Or Build A Nice Cockpit For The Huge Bird, This Was The First Thing To Come To Mind When I Open Up The Box And Saw How Huge This Fuselage Was, Let Along When UPS Knocked On My Door The Box Had To Be Atleast 6 Feet Tall As I Had To Lean It To Fit Threw The Door.

I've Open Everything Up Everything And There Was No Damages To Any Of The Parts, So Let's Begin The Build Feel Free To Give Your Input And Post Your Beginning Of Your Nitroplanes Twin Cessna 310 Or Any Cessna Twin In The Large Scale Of This One.

P,s Anyone Have Any Leads On Were I Can Purchase A CockPit Of Seats And Etc.? I Have A Video Of The UPS Delivery To The Open Of The Box For A Parts Inspection Video Attached Also The Link To The Cessna 310 On Nitro Planes Website

Plane Weight 11lbs. Flying Weight Will Be 13lbs. Well I'm Going To Start Off With (2) Power 60 Size Eflite Motor's First Flight (2) 5 Cell 3300 ThunderPower Lipo's, Then I'll Try My (2) 6 Cell ThunderPower 3850 Lipo's. And See What The Power Different, I Might Move To Power 90's If I Don't Feel Good With The 60's.

I Have a 71" Cessna 421 On (2) .46 Eflite Motors And It Fly's Like Hell At Half Throttle Have Yet To Fly At Full Throttle With About 8 Flights On Her Using (2) 5 Cell 3300 ThunderPower

You will love the way this plane flies. I have the one NitroModels offered a few years ago and am flying it with Enya 60's. More than enough power for unlimited vertical. I have also added retracts which gives it a really nice profile in the air. Takes some gutting though. If for some reason you have a motor fail mid flight the plane will still track nicely with a little rudder input for an easy landing. I actually made a landing attempt with one engine, aborted, went around and flew for a while before landing. Pretty uneventful which is a nice feature for a twin. I can also say the same for the P-38 NitroModels offer.

The only complaint I have about this model was the wing hold down block. Maybe they improved it for this version but mine did not line up correctly with the wing and cracked when bolting the wing down. I had to replace the block and modify it a little to hold the wing down correctly.

Please provide lots of pics with the motors and battery placement.

The Retracts Are The Only Thing Thats Missing Here, I'm Over Looking Where To Place The Battery's Right Now, There's Plenty Of Room In The Nose, I Will Be Adding A Cockpit With Three Polits, So I'm Goimg To Hold Off On The Battery Tray Until Tuesday, On My Nitro Planes B-25 I Put The Batterys In The Knucls Balanced Prefect, Thats One Option I'm Think The Knucle Area

Sorry to be off topic, but what's with making the first letter of every word a capital?

Edit: Incredibly, my above post was reported for being a "personal attack", which I find totally absurd. It is a perfectly reasonable question to ask why anyone would capitalise every word in a sentence, as this is an unusual practice.

I would appreciate an answer as polite as my question was, without this edit being also spuriously reported too.

And what is a knucle, and where is the knucle area?

Apr 13, 2009, 03:54 PM
I am guessing he means the engine/motor pods that attach to the wing. If so, these may not provide the best support. You are better off placing the batteries in the fuse itself and install a support shelf. On the B-25, many people placed the batteries in the belly under the hatch, or behind the cowling in the nacelle structure. So maybe that is another term for knucle? Never heard of that though.

F.B.T. I for one really appreciate your assembly videos. Because of the way nitro planes advertises it's products , it's often difficult to visualize what the pieces for the individual kits look like. What I would like to know is have you or are you planning on doing a video on the assembly of nitroplanes cessna 421??? I.M.H.O. the 421 is the coolest looking g.a. plane I've seen for rc. Thank you for the good job you've done on this video, keep it comming. PLEASE!!!!! navee8or

It sounds to me that you should try to tweak the settings on your speed controls to get rid of that annoying “screech” at motor start up. Setting the timing to medium or high may get rid of it. If, not try a softer start up. I usually use the softest startup available for my speed controls.

Just my 2 cents.

Great Build! I can’t wait to see her fly.

I like the first letter of every word to be caps, no problem for me reading what Flyboy has to say. Flyboy doesn't put any BS into his stuff, right to the point and top quality. If you wannabe RC builders want to spend time correcting spelling and grammar, don't do it here, it's not appreciated, nor is it humorous.

Flyboy's build threads put some of those boring builds to shame. Want to talk about hard reading, c'mon, some builds are so boring and then the authors think that they own the thread and try to censor comments. (reference Hero Eagle 100 thread) Not here...Flyboy is top notch, I love his stuff.

Flyboy, how about putting up a program of your future builds, so we know what to look forward to?

Flyboy,

You might get those retracts in the 310 also, it would make it much better looking.

You might talk to the purchasing guy at Nitroplanes about carrying the appropriate retracts for the planes that are designed for them. Nitroplanes needs to carry all the items to complete the ARF kits, including the optional items. More items=more profit, why give the business to some other company?

I put some Spring Air Retracts into my 310. It is really an easy mod on this plane and really makes it look good in the air. Spring Airs are also very reasonably priced. I believe I went with the 101HD's with the 100 degree nose.

Ya know, you should give some credit to the video person that you have helping you. Your videos are first class, very clear, the plane is always visable and they are not boring. For some of us older guys some of the music may be a slight distraction, but, that's not important. What's important is that the videos are clear and show the product. Your videos sell planes.

Well Do My Man,

My Biggest Reason For The Music, Is Cause There's Always Someone Talking In My Ear While Flying, And Another One Is Due To Me Being A Electric Flyer, The Gas Planes Always Takes Over The Sound Also, The Only Way To Really Hear The Electric Is To Only Fly By Myself And There's Really No Way Around It. I learned a lesson, I give up. There are alot of guys that post that just don't want to learn, they just want to post the self serving stuff. They don't realize that because of an absence of personality they are just boring people. I like to think that we all make mistakes, so lets talk about it to make everyone feel that they are not alone. There are alot of guys that read these threads but are afraid to post because they made mistakes and they feel stupid. We all make mistakes, nobody should feel elite, and nobody should feel stupid.

Can you imagine, people that blast the use of math, science, aeronautical engineers, and commercial pilots, they must be living in the dark ages.

I was thinking of starting another Eagle thread, start with some neat still pictures of the finished product, introduce your flying videos, then work backwards on how to do it. The Eagle is a perfect plane for guys that want to transition from prop to EDF.

take care and keep the videos coming.

I still owe you some pics of my plane with the retracts. This Sunday our club is having a Giant Scale fun fly so I will get some flying shots also. One other issue I had last weekend was the vertical stab loosening up on me during flight. My plane is about 3 years old now so maybe it was due but I reinforced that area with some tri stock and it's solid again. Just fyi, but you can't beat the price for what you get.

Not sure if you like warbirds, but another plane I can highly recommend is Nitro Models P-38. Flys almost the same and is a real looker at the field.

My guess has always been that FlyBoy types with his caps lock key on, and the forum has a filter to change all-caps posts to only have the first letter of the word capitalized. It's not perfect by any means, but it does make it easier to read the message than trying to read through a post with everything in uppercase.

My guess has always been that FlyBoy types with his caps lock key on, and the forum has a filter to change all-caps posts to only have the first letter of the word capitalized. It's not perfect by any means, but it does make it easier to read the message than trying to read through a post with everything in uppercase.
