I have the power but I can't get this thing to go past 50mph. Once I hit 50mph the truck flies up into the air. Is there any way to keep my rustler on the ground, how does anybody go 70mph?

wheelie bar

Wheelie bar won't keep it from doing a wheelie. Try lowering it or making a front spoilier of some sort. Sounds like you are just doing speed runs up and down the street. A sedan would handle the speed much better.

Come to a point that it just wont go any faster because of aerodynamics.

I had old nicad packs lying around and use half sticks to keep the front end on the ground more but would still manage to flip it now and then.

SPEED comes at a cost. faster you go the more spectacular the crashes or flips are.

I have a wheelie bar and it will do a wheelie from the start until it flips. I never have enough of room to go past 50mph because I have to ease onto the throttle. I saw videos of guys going 70mph without doing anything to their rustlers.

i am telling you get a pic will help alot, maybe lower front body mount and lower ground clearance by moving shock location.

My truck was kept stock, except for the gears.

What battery are you using? If its low capacity, maybe a larger capacity (heavier) would help hold it down. At least a 5000mah 3s

its just odd, my brother has a BL rustler and has the stampede front body mount with truck body, and we do not have issues with it flying however, we are running 7-cell NiMh you may be running a bigger battery and going faster, one we go lipo and we go flying i will report back on a fix(gonna be awhile)

What ESC you running? If you can, check the throttle curve with the Castle Link or whatever you are using. If the curve is ramped up steeply at 1/2+ throttle, you found your issue.

I can pull wheelies at just about any time, but if I get into it easy my Rusty will keep the tires down.

I am running a 3s 11.1v 5000mah lipo and EVERYTHING on my truck is stock, besides the gears.

Try taping a flat peice of cardboard on the front of the body giving it some downforce. I bet it would solve the problem.

dude just lower it, make or buy a spoiler and probably add a small fishing weight
or something in the front behind the bumber. that should keep that bastard
down lol.

I have a 75mph Stampede, I use a ground wheelie bar to keep it down. However, no matter how low the wheelie bar, you still have to take it easy on the throttle. To go 75 you need a lot of room so you dont have to slam the throttle. Here is my pede doing about 70mph, as you can see it is doing a wheelie but it is controllable. bottom line is, if you have the power to do 75 then you have the power to do wheelies at almost any speed, so the only answer is take it easy on the acceleration to 75. you cant do 75 in 100ft. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AfYE9cKKdFA
