I received my Dell Mini-9 two weeks ago and pulled the factory 1gb RAM chip and replaced it with a 2gb chip. This is a Hynix1GB 2Rx16 PC2-6400S-666-12 chip that is only 2 weeks old. The factory number is: HYMP112S64CP6-S6 AB
As listed from Dell on my receipt:1
Module,Dual In-line Memory Module,1GB,800MHZ,DDR2,1GBIT

This chip has been placed in the protective case my 2GB card came in and will be shipped in this case and a bubble wrap envelope. $15 shipped within the US. PayPal Preferred, PM me with replies please.

Thank you for looking,
Matt

Joe,
I would prefer to sell my own chip, but I'll be happy to help. I bought my RAM through Fee-Bay because the price was right and the seller had thousands of positive feedback. You can easily find a 2gb chip by typing in "Dell Mini-9" into the Fee-Bay search. You can also do a google search for "2gb DDR2 SDRAM xxx Mhz 200 pin chips" (replacing xxx with the speed you want)

You can also find out a LOT of information by surfing this site:
http://mydellmini.com/
Specifically this link to the Mini-9: http://mydellmini.com/forum/ Though the rest of the web site is well worth the look.

Here is the 'how to' of the RAM upgrade: http://mydellmini.com/forum/2gb-ram-upgrade-guide-t78.html
I'm no computer expert by any stretch but according to 'the experts', the processor is the limitation to the Mini-9, so RAM speed over 667 (533mhz minimum) is not really worth the extra expense. In hindsight the chip I pulled is 800mhz and the one I replaced it with is a 667mhz, yet the larger, slower chip seems to perform better with viewing movies and power hungry applications than the smaller 800mhz chip. I don't even have a program to test 'real world' speeds, this is just my 'gut feeling' on speed.

LOADS of useful information in the links above, from HOW to install a new SSD "hard drive" to RAM upgrades and bluetooth and Wifi addtions, software hacks and upgrades. I found the site very useful and specific to the little Dell.

Best of luck and let me know if I can be of any further help. NOW, who wants a 1gb 800mhz RAM upgrade for their Mini-9? :)

Cheers,
Matt

I have two Mini 9 and upgraded the memory to 2GG as well.
I highly recommend using this Kingston memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134587 (I bought it from them)

And I bought this 8GB micro SDHC Card as well to give me some more memory space: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208453

Yep, I went with a Kingston chip as well, they are in my opinion the best. I was going to upgrade my SSD "hard drive" to 16gb or 32gb chip, but I already have an 8gb chip in there and it is plenty. Though if I do pull it, it will end up here :)

1gb, 800mhz RAM chip for the Dell Mini-9 still available :)
