T maxx blunder....

I got a used t maxx and had it tuned out and running well. Then I decided to tear the engine down and clean it piece by piece. After puting it back to gether and using some after run oil for lube in all moving parts it started up with no problem and screamed like a banshee! One day I swapped out mufflers and it started dying and not wanting to stay running so I swapped it back and it's still doing the same. I've gotten it tuned since then but it keeps "untuning" itself it seems and then after a while of running it will die and won't stay running. I haven't gotten full power out of it since it started and a new glow plugged seemed to keep it running again but while tuning it started doing the same thing. So pretty much it dies at high speeds and after about a quarter tank it won't stay running. Any ideas???

When you tore it down, did you take the carb apart? I've had similar
experiences with engines with very little wrong. Sometimes a tiny speck of
dirt in the carb, sometimes a nicked O-ring leaking in air, even a tiny
crack in the fuel line letting a little air into the fuel. Since it runs a
quarter tank and dies, is their a crack in the fuel pickup line? Since you
said it screamed, it sounds like it's running lean and perhaps going too
lean as the fuel level goes down. Good Luck!
