My apologies to those who've been waiting, but I've just gotten word that those who were in the second batch of orders (second day of the sale and beyond) will have their kits go in the post today.

I won't have computer access today until tonight, but I'll get tracking numbers out asap.

Thank you very much for your patience. I'm afraid the sale was a bit more successful than the manufacturer had anticipated.

Cheers,
Reed

*SOLD OUT*

A thousand thanks to all who ordered!

------------------------------------------------
Happy Monday!

The JART-LT has gone out of production, but the manufacturer has a few more in stock and has asked me to help move them on. To that end they've given me a big discount on the the remaining kits and I'm passing that discount on to you.

What was a $295 kit is now a $195 kit. It will remain at this price until we sell the remaining stock (not many, to be honest).

This is an ARF hi-performance slope sailplane. Goes together easily, flies fast and looks good as shown in the photos below. Reviews, testimonials and build threads can be found on the order/information (http://www.jartworld.com/jartworld_pgs/jart_kits_lt_sale.html) page.

You can order this kit or an EPP version on the JART kits (http://www.jartworld.com/jartworld_pgs/jart_kits.html) page.

Email me directly with any questions: reed@jartworld.com.

Thanks!
Reed

Finally gonna get me one of these.... I wont be maidening at the Marina like Greg did... that lift is too dicey. Pt Richmond maybe.

Never got to the scratch build, still want to. Thanks Reed!

funny... why is "standard" shipping $32, and "express" $20? Not that I'm complaining.

It'll be a white knuckled launch!

Reed,
Could not resist. The build is too advanced for me now, but it will be in the line. Have had my eye on this ship for awhile. Order placed.

Good for you, Tony - but I should tell you, there is now way this build is too advanced for you. So simple a caveman could do it!

Steve Dorling (Enginetorque) edits AMI, an excellent UK-based RC magazine, and had the good manners to review our little JART-LT in his pages recently. Andy Ellison was nice enough to scan this for us...

which do you recommend Reed (I know there's 32 pgs of LT build somewhere... just being lazy)? I'm still at the I'm-poor-so-analog-is-ok phase. 85mg? I kinda like the quality of JR and Futaba, but the price of hitech. I have 2 HXT9320MG 20g servos from hobbycity ($12 each when I got them), maybe they would be an acceptable substitute. I cant seem to get to them now on the website, but this (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8303&Product_Name=Hextronik_MG-14_14g/2.2kg/0.11sec_aircraft_servo) may be an acceptable substitute, $10 each!

Anyone tried 'em?

Ben

I recommend HS65MG for this plane. The wings are very thin and even these things stick out a little. But they are tough and they will fit under the provided servo covers. Good for the elevator as well.

Reed,

I was just going to order one, but shipping is now 35 bucks. My buddy lives 10 miles away from me and his cost 20 to ship. I was ready to order, but since he told me what shipping was before, I was wondering why mine would almost be twice as much. Is there something wrong? Is it the slight change of Zip Code?

I want this plane badly enough, I'll probably order anyway, but it is a bummer that my buddy got a better deal. I guess if you snooze you lose.

I recommend HS65MG for this plane. ...

Thanks Reed. I use the hs65MGs in my 3d planes, I havent been disappointed.

Just to hightlight the specs on the HXT mg14 (http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8303&Product_Name=Hextronik_MG-14_14g/2.2kg/0.11sec_aircraft_servo) are very similar, reporting higher speed and strength (by a little) at 4.8V, and 3g heavier than the hs65mg. I dont know the dimensions though, that may be an issue. Reviews are good too. (Hobbycity doesnt pay me to say that!)

I think I'll order 4 and report back. 5 servos for the price of one hs65mg... that's hard to resist. It takes 2wks or so to get the hobbycity stuff, but so far I've been pretty pleased.

We've purchased the HXT mg14 here and there's been reports of them getting stuck or not responding. While using these for combat EPP planes, we haven't cared, but for a nice ship like this, I wouldn't use something like those.

Reed, Would HS 81s work in this plane or are they too big?

Reed
Apr 09, 2009, 01:47 AM
81s will work, but they're not very tough - I think the HS65MGs will handle the landings better.

Sorry about the shipping change - your buddy got in before I was able to change to the correct shipping. Trust me, it costs way more than $20 to ship these things. It was my mistake in the beginning and it cost me because the margin is next to nothing during this sale. Just one of those things, I screwed up in the beginning but I couldn't leave it that way or I'd actually be paying out of my own pocket! Hope you're still interested.

We're down to 6 or 7 kits now.

I've been toying with the idea of using some Hyperion digital micro's, any thoughts?

Hyperion micro data sheet (http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/at-ser/ATLAS-MAN-EN-PG1-DS11-12-13.pdf)

The folks who ordered on the first day of the sale will have it the best. Those orders are going out immediately and shipping from HK usually takes about 10 days to most parts of the world (give or take and depending on customs).

The rest are a bit more hit and miss because those kits have to be shipped from the mainland over to HK and then go out. Probably adds another 4 or 5 days to the process.

We're down to the last couple of kits and I'd guess those will be gone in the next few hours.

Gone, gone, gone. When the manufacturer saw all the new orders their eyes lit up, but when I told them it was because of the radical discount they came back to earth. The secret is that I cut as much as they did from the price so neither of us made any money - but it got those boxes out of their warehouse which was all I wanted to do. I've asked them to hold a few parts in reserve for replacement, but it's just a handful of miscellaneous stuff.

Does the build blog discuss how much wind it likes and...?

1. What is the prime wind speed for the Jart without ballast?
2. What is the max wind speed for the Jart without ballast?
3. What is the lowest wind speed?
4. Do you add ballast and how much can you or have you?
5. Can you DS the Jart and what is the fastest it has been clocked?
