I was looking for a stronger replacement skid for my Lama V4 and came across an aftermarket replacement by Xtreme (along w/ a tail boom and canopy). Has anyone any experience with this mod... does it affect performance negatively?

It's more bling and weight than I care for, but they work. The Lama V4 is already pretty ponderous for it's size.

I've only busted one in 3 months, and I'm a schlock pilot. Why weigh it down?

Care less about the "bling" and weight definitely not a good thing. It was one of the first parts I've broke on the Lama and just appears weak. Just wondering about the Xtreme Brand as it's the only replacement skid (other than stock) I've been able to find. Don't really want to have to replace the tail boom and canopy though.

Last night I took some real fine wire, bent it to the shape of the skid supports, glued it along the side and after the glue dried wrapped a small strip of duct tape around the newly reinforced skids. So far so good. Seems to be working OK and even endured a couple rough landing this morning!

Highly recommended, they are unbreakable:

For a simple, lightweight and unbreakable boom:

That's what I was looking for... Thanks!
