Any readers familiar with Art Mathews and Sequatchie full scale and RC glider flying?

Good friend of mine used to fly both at Sequatchie and i am trying to obtain information on an RC Glider that I have that was flown there. The glider is a three meter glass fuselage (not sure of the wings) built professionally by person from Crossville TN.

As it was explained to me they would winch RC until the lift was strong enough for the fullscale.

I'll post pictures if anyone replies that they have some knowledge of the site.

I have not been there for 4 or so years. I think I heard Art Passed away. The Gent from Cookville is no doubt Bob Sealy of Quality Fiberglass fame. You can google that and get info from/for Bob Sealy. Brian

I have added a few photos of the Glider flown at Sequatchie in hopes that someone might recognize it. Guys in our Club thought it might be a Laser from Bob Sealy. Any info will be of help.

Certainly a 3m as you can see how much longer the span is than my Scion xB in the background. The ship has flaps, but no alierons.

I'll ping Quality Fiberglas as Brian noted and submit photos for reference.

Thanks for your help.

That is a Bob Sealy model no doubt. To say I'm sure it is a Laser I can't.
Art Mathews had a number of Bob Sealy/Quality Fiberglass ships last time I was there. You mention Crossville, but I think you meant Cookeville. That is where Bob is and he is still producing kits. Brian

My vote is a modified Laser. The Laser was a 100" S-3021 straight wing flap/aileron ship. The tail group on this plane looks right for the Laser, as does the fuse. The main dihedral angle is also about right for the original Laser, and clearly a bit light for a poly ship of that era.

My guess is that the inner cores were retained and fitted with flaps, and tip panels were scratch built and added to make this a 3-function ship.

Hi JT
Are you thinking about the Pulsar, like Troy started the Duck family with?? It was 100 inch with a 3021 foil. Troy won the Nats with the Pulsar and then cut it down for a 2M event and quack quack.. Brian

I rang-up the telephone number on the Quality Fiberglas site and got a voicemail message stating it was Robert Sealy. Seems like this is the right track if he will return my call or provide e-mail address that i can send pictures too.

I ran into one of Bob's club buddies at a swap meet a couple weeks ago. he told me some heavy things have taken place in Bob's life and he has a new job and a new lady friend. But I'm sure he'll get back to you in time. Brian
