Does anybody know if it is possible to run two receivers in a plane on 72mhz. I use a JR9303 transmitter. I would like to use two JR receivers or Hitec maybe. Can you guy's help?

Guys do it all the time in large scale airplanes, but they run "half" of a plane off each RX. Like left elevator, right aileron, throttle on one RX, right elevator, left aileron, rudder on the other RX.

I'm guessing you are wondering about running redundant radios on single surfaces from the planes I see you flying, I'm not sure that anybody is doing that (but I'd be very happy if somebody who did would chime in!).

Yeah, I dont have my elevator split into two surfaces but It is possible but not on my current model. I thought there might be a system that I could plug two receivers into and run my servos with it.

Just need 2 receivers. I have a twin that is like an F-82 (twin Mustang) and use a receiver in each fuse.

Joe some of the fancy management boards that the jet guys use have this ability. I'm assuming you want this for your 160?

If you have Spektrum, check out the AR9100. I have one on my 50cc Extra 300. It takes 2 separate power sources and has 3 receiver units.

Feather - are you happy with the AR9100? I picked one up for my WildHare Edge.. Keep wondering if I went overboard.. ;)

I am totally happy with it, Tram. I chose to power it and the servos with 2S 1,100 A123 packs from TanicPacks.com
I remove the hatch after each flight to replace LiPo's anyway (12S 5,000) so I do not use a switch but plug and unplug the A123's instead. Tha A123's are good for 20A each and 2S is about 6.5V so I have a very robust and simple power source.
After 5 flights I pull the A123's and put them on the Duo and put about 500mAh in each. Many giant scale flyers are using A123's now.

I am going to be using 7955's which will stand 2S lipo voltage, so I am going to run 2 - 2S 2100mah packs..

I am thinkin' about the switch today.. May skip it, since I too have to remove the hatch..

Also thinkin' about putting a 50ohm resistor inline on the battery pack to keep der'sparkin' down during the connection.. We'll see..

How did you orient your antennas? I am still learning the 2.4ghz stuff.. I am thinking 2 - vertically and one horizontally??
