A friend of mine has plugs in the wing so when it is attached everything is connected. They are a little larger than deans plugs with about 3/4 inch pins {length}anyone know what they might be?

Buddy,
You'll probably need to show a picture.

Those are Hoopes connectors. I have a bunch of new sets of these if you are interested. Complete wiring harness for the plug in type wings.

Hoopes might be the person who uses these in his harnesses but is that manufacturer? These look like 4 pin Molex connectors. I use the 3 pin version in the tips of my Xplorer. They are a great connector...much beefier than the Deans 3 pin.

Probably just a standard .1" 4-pin header. Molex makes them, Samtec makes, as does 3M and probably many others.

I dont have a diagram handy but you would run both power off of one pin, both return off of another, then the remaining two are each signal.
Hope this helps...

1.1cm is approx .43" long pins.
I think what you're looking for are the .156" (approx 4mm) spaced connectors. See digikey, pages 179 and 180.

for a 4-pin connector, you would need
WM4402-ND male connector
WM1566-ND terminal housing without locking ramps
WM2300-ND or WM17403-ND (qty 4) tin female connector pin
gold is available, at additional cost. You would need a crimping tool too. I used these for many years, exactly as you have shown. I suspect jtlsf5's install uses the same pins.
It drops your unit cost dramatically by buying enough for 5-8 planes in a single order.
