Hi everyone . I'm glad to finally find a board that has my interest . I build scratch built models from ship plans . I've only built 3 kits . The rest have been from scratch . I am just starting to build M/V Swan . A heavy lift ship owned by Dockwise , I also built The Mighty Servant 3 . I'm still working on a drill rig for The Mighty Servant .
I also built a cargo ship 6 feet long , fully balisted it weights in at 185 lbs .I look forward to sharing pictures of my ships with everyone . My interest in ships are Heavy lift vessels and cargo ships .

Right nw I'm home sick and should be in bed but I was looking around the web for information on the M/V Swan and found ths site . It has been a good day .

And your building a drill rig to go with the ship. COOL!

A drilling rig is a must have accessory for a heavy lift ship.
That or an FFG-58 or DDG-67... ;)

ms3rcboatcpt,

What plans did you get for you MS-3 build?
My build is, at this point, imminent. So I am interested in
the ballasting systems and pump selections. However, I probably
won't get started till after I get back from "Maduro..." Amsterdam.

also make a good and DRAMATIC rescue boat.

imagine thee schene where someone's 1/48th sc Tug has broke down, 60 feet off the shore, sail up, ballast down, reverse, de balast, return home. :)

Rescue?

We were thinking more along the lines of piracy...
Why settle for an $8.76 recovery fee when you can demand more. :o
There's another design for submarines and space craft. :p

I just woke up from a nap . This cold is killing me , I also have a toddler who gave me this cold . 3 boys , 2 in college and one in diapers .
Umi Ryuzuki The plans I got for the Mighty Servant came from Dockwise , I have a connection there . I also got the plans for the M/V Swan from them . The Servant class had to go back when I was done .
The drill rig is a 9500 pace setter . Fried and Goldman disign I think .

Sorry to hear that your're under the weather.
Kids are such great vectors for sharing colds. :o

Did you keep a copy of the MS-3 set? They sent me a copy
of the orginal plan/profiles, plus a set of lines done in a word document.
No real way to bring them together, but it shouldn't be too hard.
There isn't many places to misplace a frame on these ships.
I hope you feel better soon.

We look forward to pics of your work. ;)

Welcome, ms3. Hope that you're on the mend.

Where in The Garden State are you? If you are so inclined, you might want to look into the South Orange Seaport Society -- a group of aimable RC boaters if ever there was one. http://www.angelfire.com/nj3/sos/

Cheers,
Capt. Spaulding

Welcome ms3. Nothing worse than trying to look after a young one when you are under the weather. Better start sucking back the old vitamin C. Like every one else, am looking forward to seeing your fleet.
