Quick question for the Cape Town tossers (your choice of name, not mine!).
I'm visiting Langebaan in early April for a week, armed with kitesurfing kit, surfboards (for Elands), and maybe a wing and a weasel.
Are there any flyable slopes in the Langebaan area, or should I leave the rc toys at home?

I have never flown in the west coast national park, but looks like there might be a few spots on the west side of the park that might work. Plenty of hill sides inland if you head out to Darling or Malmensbury.

I have been going to Langebaan for decades, but always in search of sideshore wind conditions :D! TBH, can't think of many slopes that face the prevailing winds there, but, as I say, I've never looked for them with gliding in mind.

I realize this is too late but you might return to Langebaan.
I flew a correx Mig-7 on the non sea side of the lagoon. Get on to Oostewal Rd and head South. You will end up driving along the base of a hill on a dirt road. The hill follows the contour of the shore line. You should be able to slope in a good South Wester. The lift is clean because the wind comes straight off of the lagoon. The hill is not ideal though. It would be better if it were steeper. I'm pretty sure you could slope more successfully off of a steep bank next to the laggon. There were a lot of kite surfers below me and to my left (SW of me). The flat island was pretty much NW of me.
