First off, hello to everyone.
.
I recently purchased the Pro Boat Coast Guard cruiser. I need to replace one of the drive shaft/motor adaptors. This is the peice that holds the prop shaft and drive shaft together. The part is quite easy to remove as it is affixed by 2 x 1.5 mm set screws. I have searched the net and have come up with zero so far. I have my fingers crossed this is not one of those parts that are impossible to find.
.
PS, I have been to both the Horizon Hobbies and Pro Boat sites, no luck there either.

Find what size shaft your motor is and your propshaft is. Most likely 3.2 or 4mm. 3.2mm and 1/8" are comparable. Then order what you need from this place:

Check with HORIZON HOBBIES. They are the parent company for Proboat.

Horizon, can't help at this time. They do not handle overseas customers.

If you have the room, use a Graupner u-joint. They are available in all sizes to fit motors and shafts. Horizon does not list the part you seek however it may take a phone call to verify availability. What is wrong with the one you have?

You could use Horizons site or Proboats site to find the part number, then see if Horizon could send it to your local hobby shop. Or possibly they could send it to a friend in the US and they could send it to you.

The one that came with the boat, well it just disappeared. I took it off in order to grease the prop shaft and just like that it was gone. I suspect a certain two year old son may have been responsible. I have been all over the Pro Boat and Horizon site and for the life of me could not find the part. I sent Horizon a PM and they replied with their store policy of not selling to OS customers. I did try!!

I could try to get you the part and seend it to you, no promises that Horizon will sell me the part. It is not listed in the manual on their site so I may have to call for a tech to get some help. Is it the silver coupling piece that is in the photo in the manual? Is it a solid coupling? Mine-a Midwest boat- has Dumas couplings/dogbone installed. Can you do this setup? Dumas parts are easy to get here and I can send them to you. Let me know what you want to do. These parts will be purchased through my local hobby shop and sent by US postal. Where do you live??

Uh.. Why don't you try a universal fitting? Graupner or no name ones should work just the same.

Thanks Frank. I live in Australia. Yes, its the silver coupling with the two set screws. The closest I came to the part number by going over the manual and their websites was PRB3105. That is 550 electric motor. If you can make the enquiries I would really appreciate that. They have only supplied me with a wholesalers contact details in Australia. Wholesalers will not deal with the general public and whats more they do not import this Pro Boat product either (The CG Lifeboat) I would assume that Horizon would be able to supply this part without too many problems.

Prep,
PRB3109 is the replacement that Horizon says will work. The guy I talked to was very helpful and said this will work. The cost is $5 US. If you know someone with a lathe, it may be easier to make one. Let me know if you want one ordered.
