I am planning to control my rc chopper from my pc by using bluetooth but without connecting to the chopper's remote control. Is it possibe?

isn't bluetooth range only like 300 ft or so? doesn't sound practical.

you could always build a directional antenna and boost the signal. FCC doesn't consider point to point transmission as broadcasting so the wattage to the antenna regarding bluetooth wouldn't apply

.....perhaps this is for an INDOOR helicopter project, such as a small coaxial? ;)
EDIT: Following a quick search, I did come across a Bluetooth serial adaptor.
This adaptor connects to your PC/Laptop using a conventional RS232 serial or USB cable. You then have the ability to communicate wirelessly to a Bluetooth enabled device - ie robot controller (PIC), laptop computer, PDA or mobile phone (you could have alot of fun with this!!). ;)
However as already stated, you have a very limited range.
