Hey There,

I'm trying to find out where I can get Blue Foam and Depron in Melbourne (Footscray area). I know Depron-Australia sells it but charge $20 a shipment.
I just want to try building 1 park flyer for fun and don't want to have to buy loads of the stuff just because of the shipping.

Maybe there's a craft shop or hardware store someone knows of?

Thanks

Ian

Roj's hobbies in Fairfield normally has depron. http://www.rojshobbies.com/Electric%20planes.html

Blue foam, depends what sort! If you are looking for the fan fold stuff the yanks use, I think you can forget it. Foamex, http://www.foamex.com.au/articles/products-eps-blocks-waffle-pods-styroboard-sheets-diamond-pods-rigid-polyurethane.html
sells a blue foam. It's about an inch thick. Good for making monoblocks that are used in Tony65x55's designs. You have to ring them and place your order, then they call you when it's ready to pick up.

Has any one else had any luck with locating Fan fold foam?
What I'm after is a hardware place or store that I can simply walk into and buy the stuff off the shelf, like that place the Americans are always talking about on these forums "Lowes", I think it's called!

I know my chances are slim, but maybe some one has stumbled onto such a place!

Yep i sourced it from NSW about 18 months ago BUT it's more $$$ than Cellfoam/Depron.

Just replied to your PM, i can stick some cellfoam in the car too if you want some.

cheers

On another note I just realized that in my job I have access to EPP. At least I think it it's EPP. You see I haven't really used any EPP or depron foam yet.
I'm don't really know why I hadn't noticed it before.
Anyways, it protects the very expensive equipment my customers buy. Most of it is long thick blocks, ideal for fuselages, and mono blocks. Though some comes in flat 20mmm sheets ideal for wings, I think!

I brought a sample home today. This is EPP right?
If so I now technically have a free supply of EPP. :D
