The E Zone Discussion forums will be taken down temporarily tonight and tomorrow night while we transfer them to a new server. We expect the outages to last no more than an hour or two, and will begin at around 8PM Central time.

---Full Story---
The growth of our discussion forums requires this move. Our new server promises to provide a faster response time and greater bandwidth.

No, we are moving servers first. Then we'll upgrade the forum software.

But I won't be able to finish the server move on schedule. I won't be taking the server down tonight. I'll have to do it sometime next week.

Jim,
Does limited or no access around the 4-6 p.m. (central time) have anything to do with this? I experienced this only during the past 1-2 weeks.

Thanks

It has to do with the reason why we are moving. Our provider has been very unstable, the bandwidth charges are killing us, and to top it all off they overbilled us by about $1000 and won't pay it back.

Our new server offers a lot more bandwidth and is less expensive. The only thing left to do is get the site running. This is time-consuming because we have a lot of different programs that run here and we have to test them thoroughly over there before we can get everything moved.
