I've just added support for Futaba and JR digital servos on my
autopilot controller. For now it is a compile time flag to select
between the two, since they expect different refresh rates. The
actual data pulse is the same as a normal servo -- between 1 ms and
2 ms long.

On Futaba high-speed servos, the refresh rate is 275 Hz for a frame
of 3.63 ms. For the JR high speed units, the refresh is 166 Hz for
a frame of 6.00 ms. I've heard, but not verified, that plugging
a JR digital servo into a Futaba digital output (such as a GY401) will
fry the servo.

Our Rev 2.4 autopilot board is now available, with 10 normal servos
(at 13 bits each) and one digital servo (also at 13 bits), as well as
a smaller form factor than the earlier 2.2 boards:

PCM support will be coming soon as a software-only upgrade, too.

is this a development of the Sourceforge-hosted Autopilot?

http://autopilot.sourceforge.net

Yes, it is. Rotomotion is selling the controllers as kits and
assembled units. For the first few revisions, I was handling the
group orders from the other folks on the autopilot-devel mailing list,
collecting funds, and shipping kits out of my home, but it was alot of
work.

Rotomotion is handling the orders for the new boards, which
gives me more time to hack on making the software better...
