The New Terry S, Hobbylobby is now selling it. Caution: It's expensive, 289.00 for a RTF and about 200.00 for the plane and electronics, and get this, which includes a BRUSHED motor . BTW this was told to me by a sales rep at Hobby lobby. I have my own radio like most of you but 200.00 for even the plane with brushed motor and electronic?! I can easily buy and large EDF plane for that much . Oh, I also ask if they sell parts to the plane but the answer was...no, they don't. If only the Terry S cost a least, I don't know, 89.00 to 115.00 for plane and electronics?
Here's the link (they have no picture of it as of yet 3/6/2009) http://www.hobby-lobby.com/full_com..._10529_prd1.htm
If any one of you want it bad enough, have at it I guess. I mean this plane really does look good!

Question/request for Hobby-Lobby...Will you please come down on the price like mention above!?? The Easy glider Pro, the Blizzard V-tail Hotliner, and/or the Speedy Electric R/C Sailplane doesn't cost that much.

Excellent point about offering the new "Terry S" as a airframe only. I had an original Terry that I absolutely loved. A really good all around flyer and good slope soarer as well. The new Terry S Solidpor EPP is a huge improvement. I flew hobby-lobby's and it flies very nice. It makes a great trainer as is but I would like to hotrod it a bit.

However, I think your comments are comparing Apples (airframe only) to Oranges (very complete combo). I think it is a great deal as a complete combo. Look at what it comes with...http://www.hobby-lobby.com/full_combo_terry_s_solidpor_rfr_10529_prd1.htm

"Entire Terry S outfit. Everything you need to fly is included: airplane, radio, servos, brushed motor, prop, brushed speed control, lipoly battery, lipoly battery charger, and more. Combo price is 10% OFF the individual prices."

Thanks,

BTW- call a Sales Representative at Hobby-Lobby and special order a Graupner Terry S airframe only. Graupner p/n 6297 (?)

I also found this info at a UK website about the Terry S Airframe Only (about $56+Intl. shipping):

Chris, thanks for replying to my comment and agreeing about airframe only option for the Terry S because it is something your customers will want other than the steep price  :censored: for a brushed system.
And speaking of steep price for the brushed system, I just read the PDF link you gave (thanks) and on it I read the suggested or recommended brushless system was: Mega 1615/5 brushless inrunner motors, a Jeti 30 amp ESC and 3s 1100 or 1600mAh Lipo batteries. Now Chris, don't you think that that setup just mention is worth the 200.00 combo than the brushed combo you said that was a "great deal"? And besides most everyone has their own radio.

So, when looking at what your customers want now a days, why not make the Airframe only as one of your options that you are now trying to present to them, some of which are your new EDF's?

Com'on  Chris, 289.00 is not going to cut it with your smart and (now how the economy is going) now thrify customers.

As I said earlier, i think you can special order an "airframe only terry s".

I know the quality of gear that comes in the terry package and I stand by my opinion. It is not a cheap china package. European model planes and electronics have consistently flown circles around everybody for the past 70years. You get what you pay for.

So, call www.hobby-lobby.com and special order a terry airframe. Outfit it with whatever you got laying around.

After seeing the video, I plan on ordering one myself! Seriously!

Chris thanks for the link
I just called Hobby-Lobby yesterday and the rep told me that the Airframe only of the Terry S (part # 6297) is 110.00. (Honestly I think the TerryS ARF[brushed] should cost at least that.) see what a couple of others think about the/your price now, one from the UK and the other from the USA including me :p http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=898727&page=2#post11741488

Btw, you've said: "It is not a cheap china package. European model planes and electronics have consistently flown circles around everybody for the past 70years. You get what you pay for." Well, if that's true then why is Multiplex seems so much reasonable ? For example, the FUNJET that you're are now :) selling is 71.99...of course with no electronics and or even the Multiplex EasyStar ARF is 65.00 and that like the Terry S, have a brushed system as well.

:) Chris, please don't get me wrong, I know many will be seeing these posts and I just want to say it's nothing against Hobby-Lobby or you as a person. In fact I think Hobby-Lobby should give you Chris a raise in pay for supporting their price arrangement. But remember I am also one of your customers and as such, I'm just giving you a heads up on what your customers will think of the price of your Terry S in it's RTF and ARF options, for many will want one bad...believe me. And Btw thanks :) again for suggestion about calling and special ordering an 'Air frame only' of this plane.
Your customer, Anthony

I agree with the comments by "anthodenn" and I'm surprised that Hobby-Lobby decided to offer this as a "full house" package instead of the more sensible, and more likely, in demand airframe only version. With that said, the $110 airframe only price is in my opinion/guess high because of the current exchange rate to the weak US dollar. I found it for sale here:
http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=24818

For 53.75 GBP which converts to $85.59 USD It would seem as though Hobby-lobby is just passing their shipping cost (in this case about $25) on to the customer because it's a "special order" (and there's no way hobby-lobby is paying retail so they're making even more) Nothing personal against Hobby-Lobby, I love em! But I think they underestimated the demand for this "near classic", at least to some of us, model. I'm still going to buy one (airframe version) only because I love it so much but I would buy three if the price were more sensible.
